Halloween is almost here and if you’re still in search for a little last minute costume inspiration, you’re in luck! Fandango released a list of the most popular movie-inspired costumes for 2013, and it looks like you’ll be seeing a lot of superheroes & news crews at your upcoming Halloween celebrations. According to Fandango, the top cinema-inspired costumes for men this year include Thor, just don’t forget your bicep pads and a hammer for that one. Superman inspired by “Man of Steel,” which I’ve always said is the little black dress of Halloween costumes…everyone’s gotta have this in their closet…Rounding out the list was Iron Man, followed by San Diego’s favorite anchorman Ron Burgundy, and finally, Irving Zisman from the recent release “Bad Grandpa.” As for the ladies, Fandango’s costume list includes Katniss and Effie Trinket from “The Hunger Games” franchise, Hit Girl from “Kick-Ass” and Theodora from “Oz: The Great & Powerful” proving that yes, you can get more use out of that witch costume this year. Last but not least, the girls with a penchant for glam can bring back the roaring 20’s with a Daisy Buchanan costume inspired by “The Great Gatsby.” But that’s not all. What costume list would be complete without a couple of solid movie-inspired options for the whole crew? This year’s top movie-inspired team costumes include the cast of “The Hunger Games” and “The Hobbit” movies, as well as the witches of “Oz: The Great & Powerful,” the “Anchorman” news team, followed by our last option, a flock of flappers from “The Great Gatsby.” Did your movie-inspired costume make the list? If yours is better, leave a comment and tell us what movie character you’re channeling this Halloween. And of course, if your crew wants to go as your favorite characters from “Thor: The Dark World,” check out our latest episode of Geek Chic For Cheap to find out how to make Thor, Loki and Sif costumes for less than $20 bucks! Wishing you a very safe and very happy Halloween, I’m Erin Darling for Clevver Movies.
